Our #sweetkitty died peacefully on November 7, All Saints’ Day (celebrated on Sunday). When Kitty chose us at the Boulder Humane Society, he was 7 months old and his feline-ality was perfectly characterized as a “sidekick.” Not a lap cat, nor a rarely seen cat, Kitty moved through the house with us helping with any tasks we undertook, typing, playing hide-and-seek, stealing chairs, monitoring the kitchen activities, listening to conversations, offering support to those feeling low, pointing out any new box, bag, item of clothing, or piece of paper that we may have missed, purring loudly when lovingly caressed, selecting ideal spots for cat naps, finding stray insects, monitoring outside bird and squirrel activity, demonstrating how water could be lapped from the bathroom sink, locating sunbeams, and more. He took his work very seriously and did a stellar job. His beautiful eyes watched every thing that went on and his soft shiny coat was remarkable.
