Here we are in the heart of winter with short days and long nights and when I walked today I saw buds on the trees!  Not ready to burst forth, mind you, but buds, dormant and waiting.

The trees know that spring will come.  They trust that the world will turn back towards light and warmth.  And they will be ready.

I find that very comforting…
